Praise for Grounded Visibility™

What leaders and coaches are saying.

Grounded Visibility book cover
“Grounded Visibility™ gives leaders and coaches a practical way to adapt across cultures without losing the identity that makes their leadership powerful. Nankhonde’s CONTEXT Coaching Framework™ is rigorous, deeply human, and urgently needed.”
Dr. Mark C. ThompsonNew York Times bestselling author and World’s #1 CEO Coach
“Culture is data, not noise” – this headline was enough to draw my attention to this book. And I was hugely rewarded for reading it! Grounded Visibility offers a way for coaches and leaders of being effective, authentic and present, without editing who you are, without compromising where you came from, without trying to fit in. A brilliant book full of tools that everybody should read, especially if operating in the high-context cultures. Highly recommended.
Magdalena Nowicka Mook, FASAECEO, International Coaching Federation
Nankhonde takes us on an inward journey into ourselves and our respective cultural contexts… The book is not a shout to be heard. It is a firm and clear message that carries all our voices together to the centre of our shared humanity.

In this book, Grounded Visibility™: A Coaching Model for Authentic Leadership in High-Context Cultures, Nankhonde takes us on an inward journey into ourselves and our respective cultural contexts. This is a timely piece of work that affirms the value of the contexts that leaders, coaches, and other human development practitioners work with – and work through – to deliver impact. It is an invitation to us sentient beings (in the wake of non-sentient counterparts) to remain grounded in our authentic selves and our unique contexts. Nankhonde’s Grounded Visibility model is grounded, while being neither combative, nor seeking to negate other approaches to affirm itself. It humanises the process of becoming both authentic and impactful, or effective, without losing ourselves. This book amplifies hitherto soft and unheard contextual coaching voices. The book is not a shout to be heard. It is a firm and clear message that carries all our voices together to the centre of our shared humanity. It is an invitation to see and hear others as they are, while honouring the ground where they stand, and where we stand, without losing sight of our own ground and voice. Enjoy every page, and read it, well, in your own cultural context!

This book forces you to re-evaluate definitions of success and appreciate the true value of authentic leaders. A must-read for Western-educated leaders wishing to truly succeed in high-context cultures.

Nankhonde makes a compelling case that context is not background noise; it is critical information that leaders must understand, interpret, and use… Because the quality of our decisions depends not only on the data we collect, but also on the context we understand.

I found the CONTEXT framework to be a refreshing reminder that context is data. Too often, leaders focus on metrics, dashboards, and performance indicators while overlooking the cultural realities that shape behaviour, decisions, and results. Nankhonde Kasonde-van den Broek makes a compelling case that context is not background noise; it is critical information that leaders must understand, interpret, and use. This book offers practical insights for leading across cultures, building influence, and navigating complexity with authenticity. A must-read for leaders, coaches, and change-makers working in diverse and interconnected environments. Because the quality of our decisions depends not only on the data we collect, but also on the context we understand.

This is a private opinion, not a WHO endorsement.

Nankhonde has given language to something I have witnessed many talented leaders experience – the quiet erosion of identity in the effort to fit in. The CONTEXT framework is a powerful call to lead with authenticity.

Grounded Visibility is the missing ingredient. It is the rare leadership book that is as useful in the coaching room as it is in the boardroom. Clear, generous, and long overdue.

Finally, someone has put a framework to a thought that morphed into a belief for me – “what we do is an expression of who we are”. Grounded Visibility gives meaning and a pathway to understanding the wholesomeness of our identity and a practical framework for coaches who work with leaders who have discounted themselves. Nankhonde has named something I’ve watched talented leaders struggle with for years – the quiet erosion of identity in the name of fitting in. You know that feeling when you know your cooking is good but missing that ‘ingredient’ your grandmother used to add to her meals, Grounded Visibility is the missing ingredient. It is the rare leadership book that is as useful in the coaching room as it is in the boardroom. Clear, generous, and long overdue.
